Jake R. story (anomalien.com reader)
My College has a reputation for ghosts. Every freshman arrives at campus and hears stories of the green lady in the woods, the disappearing bridges, and the satanic boy in the men’s dorm.
I love ghost stories and was delighted to find two connected with my dorm. Delighted anyway the two ghosts took an interest in my roommate and me. Years ago a student living in my dorm got pregnant and her boyfriend dumped her.
With no where else to turn, she hung herself in the tower of my dorm. I thought this story was neat until one night I lay down in my bed. I wasn’t tired, but my roommate had already gone to sleep, so I shut off the lights so they wouldn’t disturb her.
I just laid down when I heard a voice, very distinctly whisper above my head, “I understand.” I was so startled I sat straight up in bed.
The next week I was walking by the tower and I glanced up at the room where the girl had hung herself. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a girl in a white dress with long brown hair hanging in front of the window.
That night I heard whispers again, but instead of a coherent phrase, all I heard were multiple whispered voices speaking indistinctly. The girl in the tower has shown no interest in my roommate, but the other spirit in our dorm has shown a great deal.
My roommate, due to family problems, had to arrive at school a week before anyone else moved into the dorms.
She was the only person in the entire building. She had heard a story of an exorcism being performed on our floor many years ago and knew it occurred between the two bathrooms on our hall. She was horrified to discover the room we were assigned was on of five between the bathrooms.
She would securely close and lock the door every night, but by morning it was always open. And she constantly misplaced things like her make-up and hair brush only to find them in strange places they didn’t belong.
After I arrived she confessed to me that the week had been hell because her worst fear is of being alone.
That night she woke up and went to the bathroom and when she returned to our room, she looked on the door and swears that for just a few seconds “you will always be alone” was written there in blood. We later researched in the library and discovered our room was the site of the famous exorcism.
Our ghosts have been fairly quiet for the past few days, but weren’t sure how long that will last.
