“When the victim attempted to show the child there was nothing under the bed, she came face-to-face with a male suspect who was hiding there,” authorities said. A struggle ensued, during which one child was knocked over before Villalobos escaped.
Deputies later learned that Villalobos had previously lived at the residence but was barred from returning due to a protection-from-abuse order. Court records reveal he had been released on bail just 10 days earlier following charges of criminal threat, domestic battery, and violating a protective order.
After an overnight manhunt, Villalobos was arrested and now faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, child endangerment, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. He remains in Barton County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
Meanwhile, Australian soccer star Sam Kerr made headlines in Sydney for a different reason—spotted wearing a bold slogan T-shirt—but the real shocker remains the Kansas case, which reads like a scene from a horror movie.
“This is every parent’s worst nightmare,” said local resident Diane Carter. “You tell your kids monsters aren’t real, but then something like this happens.”
Authorities urge residents to report suspicious activity and ensure home security, especially in cases involving protective orders. As for the shaken babysitter and child? They’re safe—but likely checking under the bed twice from now on.
