On January 24, 2023, a mysterious bright ball flew over the active volcano Merapi (Indonesia). A webcam monitoring the volcano captured this object.
The Indonesian Space Research Center stated that it was a Falconsat-3 satellite that burned up on re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.
Netizens note that this is not at all like the entry of a satellite into the atmosphere, as the object is moving very slowly.
Others explained that it was an aircraft flying at that particular location during the observation.
There are various theories about what it could be, but without concrete evidence, it’s hard to say for sure. Some researchers believe that it may have an extraterrestrial origin.
Observing a UFO over a volcano is quite a common phenomenon that is observed in different parts of the Earth. For example, we recently talked about a resident of the Mexican town of Atlixco, who decided to photograph the Moon, but accidentally captured a UFO flying over the Popocatepetl volcano.
