Untraceable: Silver Tracksuit Blocks Radio Waves for the Conspiracy Theorist

British clothing manufacturer Vollebak has unveiled a groundbreaking tracksuit made entirely from pure silver. This innovative garment is designed to block electromagnetic radiation, shield wearers from infrared cameras, and offer antibacterial protection.

The company claims that wearing this suit makes it impossible for anyone to track you through your smartphone—whether it’s on or off—or even call you.

Vollebak, which brands itself as a “clothing from the future” company, has utilized a shielding material in this “conspiracy suit” that is reportedly the same as the one NASA used for its Curiosity rover.

“Long before the Curiosity rover was sent to Mars to search for signs of life, it underwent rigorous testing on Earth. To do this, NASA developed an electromagnetic shielding tent that completely blocks external electromagnetic radiation. We’ve now adapted that technology to create our first protective suit,” Vollebak explains on its website.

The tracksuit’s fabric, coated in pure silver, is said to block radio waves and microwaves within the frequency range of 0.2 GHz to 10 GHz. This range encompasses Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ku-band satellites, and radar systems, which rely on radio waves to measure the distance and direction of objects.

Additionally, the suit reflects mid- and long-wave infrared radiation, rendering the wearer invisible to infrared cameras, even in complete darkness.

The jacket features specialized phone pockets designed to function like a “Faraday cage,” effectively blocking electromagnetic fields.

“On the left side of the jacket, you’ll find one pocket, and another is located inside the right side pocket. These pockets are physically designed to fully encase your device. Conceptually, it’s akin to creating a waterproof pocket—but for electromagnetic energy. This ensures you can’t be tracked, hacked, or even contacted,” the company states.

The antimicrobial properties of silver add another layer of functionality, as the material not only reflects electromagnetic energy but also kills bacteria.

To develop this advanced fabric, Vollebak partnered with Shieldex, a German laboratory specializing in high-tech metallized textiles.

Shieldex’s expertise spans forensics, medical textiles, aerospace, and even Mars rover technology. Their materials are used to protect electronics from cyberattacks, camouflage satellites from thermal imaging, and create wearable biometric sensors.

The silver tracksuit comes with a hefty price tag: the jacket costs £2,495, while the trousers are priced at £1,495, bringing the total cost of the set to £3,990. Sales are set to begin in April 2025.
