Scientists have proven that humans can reproduce on Mars

Mars colonizationJapanese scientists have shown that male sperm can easily survive in Martian conditions.

Experts from Japan analyzed the potential for human reproduction in the atmosphere of the Red Planet. It turns out that the lifespan of male sperm on Mars can reach 200 years even under radiation conditions.

Experiments with laboratory mice have shown similar results. The Japanese argue that it is quite possible to use genetic samples from Earth to breed living things on Mars.

Recall that earlier reproduction on other planets was considered impossible.

The findings were part of a six-year experiment in which scientists kept mouse sperm on the International Space Station and exposed it to deadly radiation.

One of the study’s authors, Professor Sayaka Wakayama, of Japan’s University of Yamanashi, told The Daily Mail: “Many genetically normal offspring were obtained. These discoveries are essential for mankind to progress into the space age.”

“When the time comes to migrate to other planets, we will need to maintain the diversity of genetic resources, not only for humans but also for pets and domestic animals,” he added.

New research could help humanity advance in the invention of technologies to colonize Mars.
