New theory suggests that we travel to Parallel Universes when we dream

We have long been fascinated by the concept of dreaming and what they may reveal. With many different theories ranging from psychic glimpses into our future to a glimpse at our innermost thought and desires, scientists are more interested than ever in understanding this phenomenon.

Every night, humans have an average of 6-10 dreams. A few minutes after being awoken, these dreams are usually forgotten. However, what if there’s actual meaning to dreams that would make them more lucrative to remember?

Have you ever experienced a dream that was so real and life-like that you felt like you were literally there in the moment? You can feel the breeze on your face, smell the fresh cut grass or taste the food that touched your lips.

These realistic dreams feel like much more than just a creation of our imagination. A new science-based theory might actually reveal this to be true…

Modern science, as well as Native American tribes and Mexican nations, believe that we, or at least our brains visit a “parallel universe” when we dream. This would explain why humans can dream in color, and can senses with all five feelings what’s happening within the dream.

It all starts with the existence of the multiverse, the idea that our universe isn’t the only one out there, in fact, it is just one of many. Within each of these universes is a new reality, one that, while similar to our own, is altered in some way by the decisions that we’ve made.

This is a concept that scientists have entertained and explored for many years, however, a controversial 2010 study revealed evidence that there may actually be other universes in existence.

Consider the last major decision you made in your life. Maybe you moved to a new town for your dream job. In a parallel universe, another version of ‘you’ may exist that chose, instead, to stay in your hometown and pass on the job.

This one change in your narrative then creates a ripple effect, changing every area of your life from that moment on.

If you have ever dreamt of your life, but it appeared a little different – maybe you were living in a different house or a different town, you were working a different job, or you find yourself involved with a different partner.

What you may actually be experiencing at that moment is a glimpse at your life in a parallel universe. The dream itself feels SO real as if you’re actually standing there, because it, in fact, is real – just in an alternate world. This is the life that the alternate you has created.

People often have a recurring dream about a place they never visited, or even heard of. Perhaps such dreams are glimpses from what one experienced in a parallel Universe.

Sometimes people dream about events that have not yet happen but will take place in the future. Such dreams could also be incoming images from an alternate world where you are living a different life.

Who knows, perhaps some of our most special dreams are a window into a parallel universe. This is of course pure speculation, but without speculation and scientific curiosity we will never be able to learn more about the secrets of the Universe and our reality.

So, can some of our dreams be glimpses of events taking place in an alternate reality, a parallel Universe?

If our dreams are, in fact, a glimpse into an alternate life, can we use them to explore these worlds? Are we no longer limited to just our own universe? Much further study is required, but this may be the start of some incredible discoveries in the future.

  1. I must say thi is no news to me. Since I was 13 I had the power to lucid dream. It stopped for 10 years, again when I was 25 to 29 I started to lucid dream again, but this time it was a little bit different. Kept waking up in my same bed, same room, and same apartment. Some minor differences, houses outside where a little bit different each time. For a about 3 years I kept going to that dimension, I met people, went to places, even fell in love. Things were ok for a while, but eventually. My other self find out I was invading her body, she left some notes about feeling scare and be send to a mental institution. I apologize to her on a note, I promise I will never come back again. I have not comeback to that dimension in about five years. It is possible, but it can be dangerous, you do not want to wake up here and find out you are doing things you cannot remember.

  2. So another me in another universe is dreaming of me now? I guess the other me knows I play World of Warcraft and drink lots of vodka.

    • Someone I knew years ago was sure his character from WoW was real in another dimension.

  3. i had dreamos of being with loving healing aliens or Alien angels. Had one at 16 yrs. taken out my bedroom window to my yard. There was a ufo. Theydid something to my body then iwas outside ship waving at them saying “please don’t leave me here.” I had such sadness in my heart. Also dreams teaching loving white translucent about earth telling them not to uncloak to humans that won’t accept them.

  4. I had hundreds of Out Of Body Experiences (OBEs) n the 1980s. They were not dreams but the actual consciousness leaving the body. I know this because in one OBE event a friend and his wife both saw me as I saw them when I appeared at the foot of their bed while they were reading one night around 12:30 PM. He was called on it the next morning and told me I scared the Hell out of both of them. He is also a psychologist. I also taught a woman who had MS and was bedbound in a nursing home how to have OBEs which cured her depression. She told me she followed me home one day in the altered state and described my house including the pink shower curtain in the hallway bathroom with the blue peeling paint on the walls. I wrote a book about all of these experiences on Amazon and a kindle ebook titled Personally Experienced Alterstates of Conscienensess.

  5. There is no way this is true. I’ve had plenty of dreams where it’s something that actually happens to me later on but it’s always something very unimportant like I’m washing the dishes but I just so happen to be wearing an exact outfit or I’m listening to a specific song on Spotify or some minor detail like that that sets it apart but nothing major and nothing that’s helpful to me for something like being able to prepare for a major future event in my life. I’ve also had plenty of nightmares where I’m being attacked by aliens or some other mythical creature that doesn’t exist and has no futuristic or other world or universe type of meaning to it. I’ve had nightmares that I was able to control while still sleeping/dreaming by thinking about happier things so the nightmare would go away or would at least end well which would not be possible if there’s multiple other universes out there because that would mean that our universe that we live in can also be changed by other versions of us which would mean we’re not in full control of anything we ever do or say. However I do believe that some peoples dreams can be a reflection of certain possibilities or outcomes that could happen but didn’t/won’t and are usually about things worrying them and are based around the choices they made. Like if you recently took that new job and house out of town and you’re worried that you didn’t make the right choice you might have a dream that shows you what it could’ve been like had you made a different choice but it’s nothing more than a possible outcome created in our own minds to help us cope with our decisions when we’re worried we made the wrong one. Kind of like when you’re in the process of making that big decision and you way out the pro’s and con’s of each possible choice and maybe even try to imagine what it would be like in each different scenario to better help make that decision but it can also be in your dreams especially if it’s been on your mind alot or for a long time.

    • Very very very well said bravo!! You hit it right on the head so I don’t have to lol

  6. I have been experiencing this for the past year at least where my dream-self is living this whole life and each time I get to see it, its like I know where I am in the moment but when I wake up I have no clue but I can remember it clearly and those are the only dreams I ever remember

  7. This is a nice introduction but is not in depth. Scientist are slow believing things that cannot be proven without a microscope. So many different things happen in our dreams. Our souls leave our bodies and have other experiences. Some dreams can be controlled like we control our awakened life. Some cannot. Some dreams are of past lives, others the future of this life. Parallel universe, or multiverse are explored in numerous books, movies and television shows, i.e. Star Trek, Back To The Future. Whenever they returned to the present, something was always different both major or minor. There is a parallel universe for every decision we have made or didn’t make and we are living it out somewhere. We can be happily married, divorced, cheating, with children without children, with our without pets, live a long or have a short life. All these possibilities are in existence at the same time. That is the,”Many mansions” the Bible speaks of.

    • great explanation! its not that a parallel universe exist, its more of the thought that our decisions is what creates the parallel or alternate future. really good comment! makes me think!!

    • I like what you had to say, I’ve studied it a little bit and I definitely believe it.

    • This is my belief exactly and I’ve had a dream about how dreams work and this is what was taught to me in my dream inside my dream!

  8. My dreams have been so realistic the past couple of week it feels like I’m hurtiling toward sum and quick I feel like it may be my owe death but not taken by my own hands because I’ve seen my death by my own hand when I’m bout 71 with a gun i wasnt dreaming when i see that but that was wild fr i do average 5 dreams a night hell last night i was flying in a squirell suit and when I land I could see myself land

    • Your dreams are real experiences. Your death at 71 is just one universe. There are universes where you have already died and others where you will live past 71.

    • Not necessarily. The multiverse is literally trillions upon trillions of universes. The number is infinite so that means there are infinite numbers of you that exist.

    • Yep Jay there is a university where you were killed but there’s this universe and others that you are still living. You may continue to dream without fear of dieing.

  9. Around 2010, scientists such as Stephen M. Feeney analyzed Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) data and claimed to find evidence suggesting that our universe collided with other (parallel) universes in the distant past. However, a more thorough analysis of data from the WMAP and from the Planck satellite, which has a resolution 3 times higher than WMAP, did not reveal any statistically significant evidence of such a bubble universe collision. In addition, there was no evidence of any gravitational pull of other universes on ours.

    • Not a new idea AT ALL. It might have been new to those researchers but has been a feature of fiction for more than aq hundred years. It is only recently science began to listen to writers.
The concept of parallels is not new in thh slightest. Many of us believe in a universe like His Dark Materials series and we were put this way by authors the beginning 20th century

  10. This is fascinating I have many strange dreams that are exactly as described, very interesting.

    • I’ve actually had a dream that came true, I hardly ever have dreams anymore or if I do have dreams I can never remember them.

  11. On at least one occasion, I sat at a table with multiple versions of me as “we” hammered out a tricky situation. Many times, I’ve lived through future moments, some life-changing, others quite mundane. Some future events were just as they were in those moments when my waking self caught up to my dream preview — including faces of people I had never met before — while other dreams contained future moments that were mixed with symbolism and other fictional elements.

These dreams are more than just alternate realities, for me at least: they are guideposts, road maps and occasional test drives of our possible futures. Some feel like practice runs, while others feel like we’re trying to find the right direction through a difficult path ahead.

I can usually tell if I’m on the right path in my waking, normal life, by how precognitive my dreams are. They’re like echoes from the future: when great moments or powerful events are on the horizon, I’ll get a little taste in my dreams ahead of time to prepare me for the moments ahead.

    • I have had the same as you visions and dreams. What do you think these mean? Are there ways to train your mind? My young mind is simply curious and naive is all. Never heard anyone explain it as well. Or an article written as intriguing!

  12. I have considered this idea quite a bit lately. I am always me and my surroundings are a amalgam of people, places and things from my past. All though they are scrambled it’s like me only in a oddly familiar surrounding. I only leave till I wake up and still wish to return.

  13. What if the only way to travel to the 5th dimension is when we die. So when we dream we are foreshadowing the 5th dimension?? 🤕☠️

  14. What do you mean by “Mexican nations”? is that a dream? or may be those are in another reality, another dimension.

    • This can’t be accurate in any way. When you dream, you have the ability to control the dream, if you’re able to realize you’re dreaming. You can suddenly change everything, regardless of physics.

If we exist in a parallel universe, and we’re able to control the dream, it would stand to reason that they would also be able to do the same. Thus it means we’re not really in control of anything.

    • We are exactly where we are suppose to be at this time, yes even with all the chaos. It is preparing us for the truth… cover ups and falsehoods will be revealed.Soon we will look at our world VERY DIFFERENTLY !
All will be revealed very soon. Our world is NOTHING like we were taught.

  15. I write about this in my sf novel “Gram w filmie o Tobie”. Unfortunately it is written only in Polish language.
